Wallis Jimson Commemorative Plates by: Brian Clancy

In the 1884 the firm of Wallis Gimson was created in Fenton Stoke, but in 1889 it went into liquidation. Yet during the 5 years of its existence, the firm of Wallis Gimson produced 'exhibition' plates that are 100 years later highly 'collectable'. Like the firm itself, the plates have intriguing stories associated with them to add colour to the tale. Brian Clancy will give an account of how he became involved with collecting these 'octagonal commemorative' plates.

Cost: £4.00 per lecture or £17.50 for the season of 10 lectures
