Planning application no. SL/2008/1173, Booths

Tuesday, 16 December 2008

Booths has submitted a planning application for a store to be located on the Bateman’s Toyota site opposite the train station. The South Lakeland District (SLDC) Planning Committee will consider the application at its meeting to be held on 27 January 2009. Any comments on the application should be sent directly to SLDC, either by letter, email or via its website. Copies to the Town Clerk would be welcome, and will then be circulated to Town Councillors. The Town Council will be deciding on its response to the application at its regular monthly meeting to be held on Monday 12 January 2009. Anyone who wishes to make comments to the Town Council should do so by email or letter, to arrive no later than Monday 5 January 2009. Please indicate if you wish to speak on the matter at the Town Council meeting. Each contribution will be limited to 3 minutes, and it may be necessary to restrict the number of speakers, depending on the estimated time required to complete the full agenda for the meeting. If this becomes necessary, selection of speakers will be based on criteria designed to achieve as fair a balance of views as possible. This is a Planning issue, and as such, any comments must be relevant to current planning law and guidelines, the South Lakeland Local Plan and the emerging Local Development Framework. Please note that, although the Planning Committee has an obligation to consider the views of the Town Council, it must also consider individual representations received. It is important, therefore, that you make your views known directly to SLDC.
